Spinner Operator – 2nd Shift

The Spinning Operator is responsible for operating spinning frames by creeling roving stock in frames whose purpose is to stretch and twist fibers together. All duties are to be performed in a safe manner, utilizing all required personal protection equipment while on the manufacturing floor. The Spinning Operator must exhibit quality awareness while continuing to perform job responsibilities in an efficient manner, meeting or exceeding expectations. They must be able to be present and on time for scheduled workdays for maintaining excellent customer service

Job Requirements

  • Check ID’s before starting shift; do not run without proper signature on ID
  • Check all machinery and equipment to ensure safe operations before starting machine
  • Obtain full doff boxes of roving from staging area
  • Pushes doff boxes around frame while creeling frames/ends
  • Creel full roving bobbins as needed
  • Patrol job to creel, repairing ends down
  • Patrol job to remove small laps from rolls
  • Clean head, end rods and rails
  • Flag ends that require a fixers attention
  • Remove empty roving bobbins from the creel
  • Take empty roving bobbins to designated areas
  • Empty pneumafil boxes as needed
  • Keep work area neat and clean
  • Properly place any waste generated in appropriate container
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines as outline by the Job Safety Analysis for this positon
  • Perform any duties assigned by supervisor

 

Key Competencies

  • Standing 7.5 hours on concrete floor
  • Moving doff boxes weighing 183 lbs. around frames to creel in roving
  • Must be able to read and understand printed material
  • Must be able to see Quality and Mechanical problems
  • Must have color vision

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D.
